Last week the bank lost seven bn dollars by a junior staff member working in back banking.
A 31 years old individual named Kerveil appeared in International press as “rogue trader".
He was arrested and later released and now Kerveil is being investigated for breach of trust.
The bank chief Daniel Bouton surrendered his last year bonus and six months salary as a compensation - A noble deed indeed.

A frenzy of violence in Kenya
Kikuyu people are going from house to house attacking, looting and burning the property of those, who are not the members of the tribe. The Red Cross official reported that 30 people were burned alive in their homes on Sunday.
The historic tribal grievances over the land and ethnic tensions have reached to its peak.
The members of president Kabuki’s tribe Kikuyu and opposition backed Lou and Kalenjin tribes are at war with each other.Human rights organisations blame both sides to encourage the violence.
Almost 1000 have been killed;thousands of people are forced to leave their homes and the brutal violence seems to have no end.

Infected water buffalos in Italy
The plains of Campania around Naples are home to large water buffalo herds and 30% of the herds are reported to be infected with bacterial disease called Brucellosis. The disease can be transmitted through food to humans causing sever intermittent fever.
The Italian government decided to slaughter 32 000 infected buffalos in coming two months.
The production of Italian fresh cheese Mozzarella is under threat.
It is puzzling why the authorities could not detect such wide spread infection earlier.
Where were health inspectors, the farms veterinaries and cheese manufacturers laboratories?
It all happened while we were enjoying with closed eyes, pizza with fresh mozzarella, lasagne and sun dried tomatoes with fresh Italian cheese.

Panic in Finance Markets
The world finance markets are in panic, the investors continued to sell the shares;the experts are urging people to remain calm.President George W.Bush proposed 145 B dollars emergency stimulus plan to boost the economy. The Federal Reserve announced to cut the interest rates to 3,5% in order to avoid the recession in the world’s biggest economy.
The massive liquidity injections, tax rebates, promises of normalization and all other traditional measures are not enough to restore the confidence. The sick finance markets are beyond reparations, long passed the time for medication, there is a strong need for a financial surgical procedures.

Cruel,vicious and shocking
The immigration officers entered in the Cardiff University Hospital of Wales.
They approached to a cancer patient, who just had a session of the dialysis treatment. They removed her from the hospital in wheel chair, drove her to Gatwick airport and put her on a plane to Ghana.
Ama Sumani’s 4 years visa was expired so she was consider being illegal in the country.
Ama is 39 years old,her kidneys were damaged by cancer, without treatment she had only weeks to live.
The immigration office announced that Ama was not deported, she was removed from the country and removals are always carried out in the most sensitive way possible.
There was no sensitivity in this very removal. In such cases there should not be any expiry date or any illegal status,no patient should be removed from the hospital bed.
It is just cruel, vicious and shocking.

Remember Wei Wenhua
Wei Wenhua was an ordinary Chinese citizen from a central Chinese province-Hubei.
Last week he noticed a confrontation between city inspectors and villagers over the dumping waste near their homes. He took out his cell phone to record the confrontation in order to publish in his blog. All 50 municipal inspectors jumped on him and in five short minutes Wei was beaten to death on the site.
How could it happen?
When I discussed this saddening incident with my Chinese friend Chang he claimed that such assaults on citizens are no surprise. It happened just because the inspectors could.
I mourn the death of my fellow blogger and my colleague.
I wish we all should yell out the name of Wei Wenhua on the colourful eve of Olympic in China.

Strictly Vegetarian
The Greek philosophers favoured a vegetarian food and advocated a life that did not involve cruelty against animals.Today more than 2 billion people are vegetarian because of ethical, religious convictions and health reasons.
For me a near by vegetable and fruits market is enough reason for a meat-free diet.
